World Book Day 2016

In order to celebrate World Book Day, the children, and teachers, came to school dressed as their favourite literature characters, with some amazing costumes on display.

Here are our fantastic fancy dress winners.

Working in their rainbow groups, the children read the works of some of the best children's authors: Roald Dahl, Julia Donaladson and Dr Suess, to name just a few. Fun activities were organised for the whole day; red group tasted green eggs and ham whilst pink group made Willy Wonka's chocolate factory from recycled materials.

The day was a huge success with children from year one working alongside our oldest children in school, sharing stories and working towards a common goal, to become life long readers. We love reading at Jesmond Gardens and we look forward to picking up out next book, the doorway to our next adventure.
