Teaching Staff

Mrs Lee

Hi, my name is Mrs Lee. I joined our school in 1999 and taught in one of the Reception classes. Since then, I have been lucky enough to move around the school and I have now taught in each of the year groups. I love teaching and especially enjoy helping children learn new concepts.

I thoroughly enjoy spending my spare time with my husband, my daughter Sophie and my son Alex. I also like to read, watch TV and films and listen to music.

Miss Quin

Hi everyone! My name is Miss Quin. I have been working at Jesmond Gardens since April in the Y5/6 unit. I have been teaching for a long time and have been lucky enough to work with children in most year groups, although i have spent most of my career in Y5 and Y6. I am really looking forward to getting to know everyone and spending time in this lovely school. 

When i am not in school, i enjoy spending time with my family. I also love walking, reading, swimming and skiing.

Miss Scott

Hello everyone, my name is Miss Scott. I am new to Jesmond Gardens and I will be working in Nursery. I am looking forward to crating opportunities for children to learn and grow through play.

When I am not in school i spend my time with my two puppies who love to go on walks and explore new places. However my favourite place to be is at home, watching a film and trying different foods.
Mrs Curtin

Hello! My name is Mrs Curtin and I joined Jesmond Gardens in January 2017 in Year 3. I have taught in many different year groups since beginning teaching and am looking forward to working with the lovely year 3 children here.

When i am not at school, I love swimming (even teaching it on a sunday!)  and scuba diving. I love shopping for new shoes and most of all, i really like chocolate!



Miss Perry

Hi, my name is Miss Perry and I teach in the year 5/6 unit and I am looking forward to the challenges I will be faced with here. In the classroom I especially enjoy numeracy. I like everything neat and tidy - so no mess please!

In my spare time I love to travel and experience new things - especially different foods! I am from Northern Ireland, so when I get a chance it is also nice to get a “wee trip home”. 

Mrs Gray

Hello, I am Mrs Gray and I joined Jesmond Gardens in 2010 to begin my teaching career. I teach in KS1 and absolutely love teaching all of my Year 1 and 2’s. In my spare time I like going to go to the gym to work out. I also love eating out at nice restaurants but most of all I love to shop till I drop. I adore all animals except spiders!

Miss Willson

Hi, my name is Miss Willson and I have been a teacher at Jesmond Gardens since 2010. I started working in Year 5 but have managed to work with the children in each unit since then. I love teaching phonics and working with all our fabulous children. In my spare time, I enjoy reading a good book and relaxing with my friends and family.  

Mrs Egan 

Hi everyone! My name is now Mrs Egan but it was Miss. Thompson. I am a year 3/4 teacher. I enjoy teaching P.E and drama, and love making learning fun for everyone!

When I'm not at school, I like to read, watch films and spend time with my friends. I also love keeping active and am a keen kickboxer, but it's always nice to relax with a cup of tea afterwards!

Mrs Dixon

Hi. My name is Mrs. Dixon. I have been at Jesmond Gardens since 2000 as a part-time teacher. My work is linked to Special Educational needs and I am a specialist dyslexia teacher.

Outside school I like to attend concerts and sporting events. I also enjoy travelling and love to visit my daughter in the USA.

Miss Atkins

Hello, My name is Miss Atkins and I am new to Jesmond Gardens this year, I will be working in reception class mainly but you might see me in other classrooms too. I love to make learning fun so that children can enjoy their time at school, I love to see children makes progress, it’s extremely rewarding.

When I’m not at school I love to spend time practicing at my archery club (I think I’m better than Katnis Everdeen). I also love long walks with my dog and spending time with my family and friends. On rainy days I like to cuddle up on the couch with a good book (Harry Potter is my all time favourite).  


Mrs Smith

Hello! My name is Mrs Smith and I have been a teacher at Jesmond Gardens since January 2016.  I started off in Year 1 and I now teach the lovely Year 4s.  I love teaching at Jesmond Gardens as all of the children are so lovely and friendly.  

My favourite things are the colour pink, my dogs and my family and I also enjoy relaxing at home or watching my son Oliver play rugby at the weekend.  In the holidays, I love going camping but only in the warm, dry weather! 

I am really looking forward to the rest of the year and all of the exciting things we will be doing.

Mr Curtin

Hi everyone, my name is Mr Curtin and I'm really excited to be joining you all at Jesmond Gardens in September.
I've been a teacher for 7 years and have been lucky enough to work all over the North East, with children from Year 1 all the way up to Year 6. I love teaching geography, history and especially computing! I can't wait for you to show me all of your skills using your iPads.
In my free time, I have lots of hobbies including: reading a wide range of books; geocaching with my family; and going to watch Newcastle United at St James' Park. Most exciting of all is that I'm a qualified scuba diver and love to get my fins on to explore the underwater world! 



Mrs C Goodwin

Hi! My name is Mrs Goodwin and I'm English leader. I have worked at Jesmond Gardens since 2008, working in both KS1 and Y5/6. I'm currently working in Year One, where I'm really enjoying teaching phonics again. I love writing stories, especially spooky stories with a twist. 


In my spare time, I love to spend time with my family: my husband and my little boy, Preston. We spend a lot of time in play areas, the park and swimming. I really enjoy these things but when I do get time to myself, I love to read.



Miss Harrington

Hello everyone! I am Miss Harrington and have been lucky enough to join Jesmond Gardens in September 2017. I am working with the lovely Year 6’s this year and am excited for the opportunity to teach such a fantastic group of students. My favourite subject to teach is English, especially creative writing.

In my spare time, I enjoy travelling, reading (especially Harry Potter), taking my dogs out for walks and drinking lots of tea and coffee.






Mrs Butterfield

Hi, my name is Miss Butterfield.  I am new to Jesmond Gardens this year and I am teaching in the Year 1 class.  I have taught in several schools across Hartlepool and I especially enjoy teaching phonics. So far, I am having a great time working with the amazing children at Jesmond Gardens and I am looking forward to getting to know them better.In my spare time I like to go camping with my little boy and we love to go exploring.  I also love cooking, baking and of course eating!
